JerkyJerky is a meat product which is made from strips of meat which are then marinated and then dried. This method of preparing and preserving meat has very ancient origins, and is found in a number of countries around the world. Jerky is most often made using beef, but other meats are also sometimes used instead. South African cuisine contains a similar meat product known as "biltong".
